Ways for Charity Partners to Contribute:

Bake sale goods

1.Organise Workplace Fundraisers:

Host internal fundraising events such as charity auctions, bake sales, dress-down days, or matched giving campaigns. These events not only raise funds but also engage employees around a shared cause.

Hands with letters saying 'Give"

2. Set Up a Corporate Giving Program:

Allocate a portion of company profits, set up recurring donations, or introduce employee giving schemes where contributions are matched by the business, multiplying the impact. Companies can also allow customers or employees to choose which charity they want to support.

3. Run a Food Collection Drive:

Encourage staff and customers to donate non-perishable food items through seasonal food drives or ongoing collection bins in offices, stores, or warehouses. A particularly good time of the year is during the Little Flower Penny Dinners National Food Bank Day which takes place in early September each year.

4. Donate Surplus Food or Goods

Contribute surplus, short-dated, or mislabelled food products that are safe to consume. This reduces waste and directly supports people facing food insecurity. Especially if your organisation works within the food or grocery industry.

5. Leverage Networks to Raise Awareness

Use corporate marketing channels, social media, newsletters, websites - to promote the charity’s mission and campaigns. Raising awareness encourages broader community support and engagement.

6. Charity Challenge

A charity challenge, such as a walkathon or bike ride, can encourage employees to get active while raising funds for a good cause. Companies can provide incentives for employees who participate and reach fundraising goals.

7. Hosting a Charity Event or Evening

Hosting a charity event, such as a special dinner or even a pub quiz where a percentage of funds raised go directly to a charity. This can bring together employees, clients, and partners to raise money for a good cause. This can also provide an opportunity for networking and team building.

176 years later and Ireland is still hungry

Despite the notion that hunger is something we left behind way back in the 1800’s, food poverty is still a huge, yet almost hidden problem in modern day Ireland. Over 100,000 children go to bed hungry every night. 20% of parents regularly skip meals to feed their families. Since 2020, the demand for food help increased by 70%. Famine Food Bank is here to provide a stark reminder that hunger isn’t something we left behind 176 years ago.
